MUCH LOVED SOUL, FOLK, ROCK SONGSTRESS OF "IT'S IN HIS KISS (SHOOP SHOOP SONG)" FAME
The first black British artist to successfully merge soul, folk and rock in the 70's with top 20 hits such as "Rock-a-doodle Do", "I'm in Love Again" and the huge international hit "It's in his kiss (The Shoop Shoop Song)" - later famously revived by Cher. Linda Lewis's solo success turned her into one of the world's most in demand vocalists. She went on to work with an incredible array of artists including David Bowie, Manfred Mann, Rod Stewart, Cat Stevens, Frank Zappa, Marc Bolan, John Martyn, Steven Stills, Elton John, Muddy Waters and Taj Mahal, while continually drawing admiration form new fans such as Joni Mitchell, Eric Clapton and Stevie Wonder (who contacted Linda personally to proclaim his admiration for her voice!).
Following a career break, she returned in the 90's with two acclaimed albums, Second Nature (a No.1 in Japan!) and Whatever, and has continued to tour and maintain a devoted UK fan base. Her latest album Kiss of Life marks her out as a true original, with a voice to compare with the best.
