The Jazz Café in London will be host to Irmin Schmidt & Kumo on Tuesday 9th December 2008. Irmin Schmidt, founder of the legendary German avant-garde rock group CAN plays live in the UK for the first time in 7 years. They will also take this opportunity to play a 45-minute DJ set of CAN tracks, including some rare, unheard and bizarre mixes from his studio vault.
Irmin Schmidt & Kumo’s latest album Axolotl Eyes will be available as a single disc edition on 8th December to coincide with the show.
On 1st December, Irmin Schmidt will release his original film score for Wim Wenders’ latest film, Palermo Shooting which premiered in the Official Selection of the Cannes film festival earlier this year. The score, composed and produced by Irmin Schmidt, features Markus Stockhausen on trumpet, amongst others.
