African superstars Amadou & Mariam and their artistic director Marc-Antoine Moreau curate a monthly rendezvous for African music

‘L’Afrik C’est Chic’ is an extension of Amadou & Mariam’s work with Damon Albarn’s Africa Express, with Amadou & Mariam inviting very special guests on stage for spontaneous jam sessions in a stripped down/unplugged set. Their percussionist, Boubacar Dembele, will also join them on Djembe or traditional instruments. Each day commences with DJs at 3pm, with Amadou & Mariam on stage around 5pm for one hour or more, followed by African DJs, such as Mo DJ, until midnight. Each event promises to be a unique and unmissable experience.
Amadou & Mariam have also been announced as special guests with, triple Grammy Award winners, Coldplay for eight shows on their US Summer tour, commencing in Portland on July 10th and finishing in Maryland on the 24th July.

Amadou & Mariam release a new single Ce n'est pas bon, featuring Damon Albarn on keyboards, on digital download only, through Because Music on Monday 9th March. The bonus songs include three different versions of Ce n’est pas bon - the album version, radio version and ‘Cantina Demo.’

‘Welcome to Mali,’ released last November, was included in the “Albums of the Year” in Observer Music Monthly (Number 2), Mojo, Metro, Independent On Sunday, The Sun and the Daily Telegraph.

The album features Damon Albarn as guest producer on the opening track ‘Sabali’. The album was produced by Marc-Antoine Moreau and Lauren Jais who, together with Manu Chao, were co-producers of 2005’s ‘Dimanche à Bamako’ (‘Sunday in Bamako’), one of the best selling albums ever to come out of Africa.
