LEON WARE - Retrurns to Jazz Cafe
Songwriter, singer, LEGEND!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbOekriUmDo&feature=channel_page
The Maestro of silky soul is back! Leon Ware’s performances at the Jazz Café are legendary. People keep coming back for his shows, and rightfully so. The sensual soul minister from Los Angeles may say that he has ‘never really been out there as a fully-fledged recording artist and performer because of my love for producing and writing’, but his fans know better. Leon Ware has always been there, although many regard him one of the music industry’s best kept ‘secrets’. Been there in the music of Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, Minnie Riperton, James Ingram,. Bobby Womack, Omar and Maxwell, to name a few, and of course in Marvin Gaye’s ‘I Want You’ album. We all know who wrote and produced that seminal Motown album. And been there as a solo artist! Ohh, how we love his ‘Rockin’ You Eternally’ and ‘Why I Came to California’. And did you know that his Motown ‘Musical Massage’ album is as good as ‘I Want You’? Lucky us, Leon Ware has embarked on a European Tour on the back of his highly acclaimed solo release ‘Moon Ride’ on Stax Records (talking about legendary) last year and the recently released 'Leon & Friends' (Expansion Records) which gives a snapshot of his collaborations over the years. He is as smooth and suave as ever, and his voice never sounded better (at 69!). Please, lay your lovin’ on us, Maestro!
